Legs
A leg represents transit between two Locations. Legs always have a travel mode, the type of transit you're using. This can be driving, walking, flying, etc. Legs only appear if the associated locations have a place specified, since geographic information is required to show a leg.
Legs appear visually on the Map and on the Itinerary. Legs are color-coded throughout so they can be easily recognized.
Pinning a leg will prevent a Location from being inserted between each end of the leg.
Legs indicate the route, distance, and transit time when possible:
Mode | Route | Distance | Time |
---|---|---|---|
Fly | |||
Drive | |||
Walk | |||
Rail | |||
Bus | |||
Cruise | |||
Other |
- Fly: Routes are approximate, distance is the great-circle distance. Flight time is airline-provided when a leg is added by Flight Number, otherwise estimated.
- Other: Use if your mode of transit is not available for selection.
Details
You can enter or update extra information for legs, including duration, distance, departure time, and transit identifiers (based on the mode). This information is automatically populated for flights.
For driving legs, you can also indicate whether to attempt to avoid tolls or highways.
